Thank you for your interest in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC) at the University of Arizona (U of A). UROC seeks to increase graduate school access for students from groups underrepresented in graduate education. Funding amounts and selection criteria vary from program to program, as determined by institutional or federal grant policies. Review program eligibility guidelines by visiting program websites.

This application is shared by the Graduate College UROC programs: Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program (McNair), UROC-Prep, Summer Research Institute (SRI), Minimizing Health Disparities (MHD), and our partner programs, Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC), AWARDSS-PLUS, and ASEMS Scholar Training Academy for Research in STEM (ASEMS-STARS).

About the UROC application process:

  • Application deadlines vary per program and are listed on our UROC programs overview page.
  • Be sure to:
    • Review the entire application carefully.
    • Know your current cumulative GPA and calculate your GPA in your major.
    • Letters of recommendation are not required for this application.
    • Drafts will be saved for 14 days.
    • In order to access your draft application, you need to log-in on the same computer you originally used to start the application and use the same account.

The dependent and independent verification forms can be found on the McNair Program web page and should be completed and uploaded here. We cannot review your application without these completed documents.

Requirement: Documentation for DACA, Refugee, or Asylee Students

DACA, refugee and asylee students are eligible for UROC programs and need to upload extra documentation to be considered for the McNair program. If you would like to be considered for McNair, please complete the documents from the McNair Program web page and upload them here before continuing.
